Drive or deck belt. Check tension and inspect for cracking, fraying, and glazing before returning the machine to service, and route the replacement exactly per the deck/belt diagram for the model. Confirm pulley alignment and idler function at the same time — a belt installed on a misaligned or worn pulley wears out again quickly regardless of the belt's own condition.
