Air, oil, or fuel filter. Replace at the interval specified in the engine or machine's service schedule, or sooner if visibly dirty or the machine has been run in heavy dust or debris. Confirm the filter seats fully in its housing — an improperly seated filter can let unfiltered flow bypass it entirely.
